UPDATE FROM DAVID AND JAN
Well, many of you know that we have been interested in selling our store for several months and had/have an offer that was supposed to have ownership of the store changing hands at the end of February. The buyer we were working with has had some family issues and cannot give a concrete timeline for the transfer at this time. He may still buy the store, but we are open to other suitors.
In the meantime, the store will operate as it has for the last 15 years under Jan’s and my ownership. While we are ready to move on, this is my baby, and I want to see it continue to do well.
I appreciate all of you who have come into purchase wine while the store was still under our ownership. We look forward to your continued support! I will keep all of you up to date as to the sale of the store if and when things start back in motion.
We are still offering tasting opportunities through our three Wine Stations and as before, you are welcome to bring in food to enjoy with the wine(s) you enjoy while visiting the store.
Also as before, I am happy to try to find and bring in wines that you may have tried and wish to purchase to enjoy at home or share with friends.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions either via email or by phone. Thank you for your support and understanding and most of all friendship!

LOOKING FOR A NEW TWIST ON BAKED BRIE? WE HAVE SOMETHING IN MIND. BAKED BRIE WITH DRIED CHERRIES, THYME, HONEY AND PECANS
Jan recommends a Rhône red to pair with this appetizer. She believes it would stand up to the herbs and the creaminess of the dish.
INGREDIENTS AND PREPARATION
Note: This appetizer combines salty, sweet, creamy and herbal notes to make a crowd favorite. This recipe uses readily available supermarket ingredients, including the use of refrigerated crescent rolls. It’s great to have these ingredients on hand for those last- minute gatherings.
· 1- (9-13-ounce) wheel of brie cheese
· ½ cup dried cherries
· ¼ cup chopped pecans
· ¼ cup honey
· 2 teaspoons fresh thyme, finely chopped, plus thyme sprigs for garnish
· 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
· 2 tablespoons cherry preserves (optional)
· Parchment paper
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Soften the cherries in warm water. Drain the water, chop, then set aside.
In a separate bowl, mix the cherries, pecans, honey, and thyme until it forms a paste.
Using a small knife, carefully cut off the white coating on all sides of the Brie, then add the cherry mixture on top.
Open the crescent roll dough, and using a rolling pin, roll it out so that it will cover the entire Brie. You may have to piece it together; make sure there are no gaps.
Cover Brie with the dough, and place on parchment paper on a baking sheet with the seam side down.
Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes or until crust is lightly browned.
Spread cherry preserves on top of appetizer and garnish with fresh thyme sprigs.

INTERNATIONAL RIESLING DAY IS MARCH 13
Most of you know that I love Riesling and that I do not shy away from those that are a little sweeter. So, on this International Riesling Day, I would challenge you to give these great wines a chance.
You can try a Kabinett style example that is going to be a little on the drier side. If you want to give it the best chance to shine, and you like Indian or Thai food, try it with either of those cuisines. You do not have to have hot spicy dishes; the wine complements the spices in general and really shines.
We have great Rieslings in all price ranges, so you really have no excuse for not giving this misunderstood grape a shot!
